Gross Polowy’s Managing Attorney named ALFN Outstainding Young Professionals to Watch

Congratulations to our Managing Attorney Kelly Cosentino, for her selection in the 2020 class of the ALFN Junior Professional Executives 7th annual “Picture the Future” List of Outstanding Young Professionals to Watch.

In the 2020 class, Kelly is one of 12 individuals named to the “Young Professionals to Watch” list. Her selection from a pool of nominees spans a national network of legal and residential mortgage banking & servicing professionals. Individuals named to this list undergo a blind, committee based peer review. All references to gender, geographical location, name, and their company affiliation are removed from the nomination forms so the review committee’s selections are made based solely on the merits of the candidates’ professional achievements.

All of us at Gross Polowy are proud of Kelly for her career achievements and are thankful for her contributions to our team!

Lawyers 4 Learning

Lawyers for Learning (LFL, Inc.) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing  a program through which members of the legal community of Erie County, New York, volunteer as tutors and mentors at School 18, a public grade school located in Buffalo, New York.

In addition to the weekly one-on-one tutoring the group has provided for the last 21 years, contributions from the legal community have allowed Lawyers for Learning to send dozens of inner city children to summer camp at the YMCA’s Camp Weona, sponsor many educational field trips, and to continue work on the community garden across the street from the school.

The program operates during the School 18 academic year (roughly September to June) and matches volunteers drawn from the entire legal community, including judges, lawyers, law students, court clerks, paralegals, court reporters, secretaries and other staff, with students ranging from first grade to eighth grade.

Gross Polowy Participates in Habitat for Humanity’s Woman Build Week

Last month, Gross Polowy took part in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week. This is the first year Buffalo participated in this nationwide event. The build week program highlights the challenges women face as homeowners and empowers women to make a difference in their homes and in our community. Our team spent the day helping to lay the foundation of two homes in Buffalo that will be offered to low-income families at an affordable rate. Not only did we have a very successful build day, Gross Polowy was also the breakfast sponsor for all the groups who volunteered for this awesome event. Due to the demand from the community and local businesses, Habitat for Humanity Buffalo will be continuing the Women Build project every Wednesday throughout the rest of the year. Gross Polowy is assembling a team to help out this Summer!
